Who we are:

How many times have you felt unheard of as a patient, especially when it comes to your mental wellness? Have you been offered medications that either don’t seem to be benefitting you or are you looking for other options/alternatives? In medicine, for every ill there is a pill. For every pill, there is a side effect. Sometimes its not about the pills, its about the skills. Instead of treating the symptoms, we will work together to identify the underlying causes of what you or your loved ones are feeling. True solutions, not just bandaids.

Desert Health is Wealth is a Nurse Practitioner founded mental wellness clinic looking to help achieve total mind and body wellness. Looking beyond just the black and white methods of traditional psychiatric medical practice, each client will have the opportunity to explore other possible underlying organic causes for why their mental wellness may not be to its fullest potential. I believe in the power of collaboration between the client and provider to create exceptional health outcomes.

As a team, we will discuss the mental wellness vision you have for yourself and establish treatment goals centered around what matters most to you as a client. We will encompass a plan of care that is holistic in approach, utilizing a combination of treatment modalities including medication management, nutrition, vitamins/minerals, exercise and therapies that will not only meet but exceed your mental wellness expectations.

Jessica Cummings FNP-C, PMHNP-BC

With over 24 years in healthcare combined as an RN, Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I seek to treat patients better as a “whole”. After the COVID pandemic of 2020, my own compass arrow was spinning personally and professionally, and I had to resist my own urge to walk away from healthcare entirely. I was fed up with the medical care that was being offered to the patients I truly cared about, but what was most concerning was the lack of regard for everyones mental health. Patients, family members, colleagues all alike were impacted forever changing the course of how we should be addressing mental wellness for all. This is what inspired me to pursue the opening of Desert Health is Wealth

My clinical background as a nurse practitioner includes over 10 years in emergency medicine and inpatient hospital based medicine, which led to my initial interest and passion of treating mental health as it directly impacts healthcare outcomes.

I also have experience in occupational health, orthopedics and pain management and hold certification as a (NASM) personal trainer.

Additional training includes the completion of Dr James Greenblatt’s fellowship in functional and integrative psychiatry with certification as a functional psychiatric provider (CFPP), advanced ADHD training & nutritional psychiatry training.Additional course work completion through the Institute of Functional Medicine including:

  • Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice (AFMCP)

  • Hormone Advanced Practice

  • Immune Advanced Practice

Most recently, i have went through additional training for BHRT and thyroid optimization to allow me to provide the most integrative approach to psychiatric care possible.

Hannah Hanna, PMHNP-BC

Independent Practitioner -Partnering with Desert Health is Wealth to provide dedicated mental health evaluations and medication management

Hello! I’m Hannah, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with nine years of nursing experience across a variety of healthcare settings. I’m passionate about reducing the stigma surrounding mental health treatment and creating a safe, welcoming environment where patients feel heard, respected, and supported.

I understand that finding the right mental health provider can feel overwhelming, and I’m here to make that process a little easier. Through my personal and professional experiences, I’ve seen how deeply mental health challenges can affect individuals and families. These experiences have strengthened my belief that mental health care should be compassionate, individualized, and centered around the whole person.

My approach goes beyond simply prescribing medication. Together, we’ll explore the factors that contribute to your overall well-being, including sleep, nutrition, movement, lifestyle, relationships, cultural values, spirituality, and other areas that may impact your mental health. We’ll work collaboratively to identify your goals and develop a treatment plan that feels appropriate for you.

I also believe that education and practical tools are an important part of treatment. I’ll provide patient-specific education and therapeutic strategies that you can use both inside and outside of appointments, helping you feel more informed, empowered, and confident throughout your mental health journey.

I enjoy working with patients ages 5 and older, with particular clinical interests in perinatal mental health and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, exploring new places, hiking, and traveling. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you along your journey toward greater mental wellness.
